Mahal Empire brings the Horror-Nation a new take on this popular sub-genre with their latest release, Alien Storm. Featuring icons Tom Arnold and Kevin Sorbo, this installment should have horror hounds salivating.
Celebrating his success, Las Vegas businessman Frank McConnelly is throwing an epic bash. Crashing not only the party, but the entire planet, is party-poopers from out of this world. The resourceful McConnelly is prepared with a state-of-the-art bunker underneath his mansion. Most of the party flees to the streets while the smarter bunch gathers in the bunker to wait out the invasion in hopes for help. As the planet goes dark, the group begins to splinter into those that want to take the fight to the invaders. A royal rumble of humans vs aliens begin with the humans desperately searching for a weakness in the beings that can turn the tide of the war. Can McConnelly and his crew defend their fortress, or will Earth have new overlords?
Alien Storm is an old school creature feature with great design and pace. Unlike most other worldly films, the audience gets plenty of alien action through the eighty-three-minute run time. No scenes are wasted with overindulgent dialog; director Adam Werth gets right to the point with a great opening sequence that sets the stage for the saga. The cast puts in solid shifts with great scenes from Sorbo, Arnold, WWE superstar Charles Wright, and indie icon Dawna Lee-Heising. Robert Standley drives the narrative with a solid shift as Frank McConnely. Alien Storm is a great return for Mahal Empire since the tragic and unexpected passing of founder Michael Mahal. The horror nation can once again rejoice and enjoy these fantastic films by honoring the legend that has brought us many great fear films.
