HN: What is your favorite Werewolf film?
LD: I grew up watching Stephen King’s Silver Bullet. I loved that film. I think it was so interesting that the priest was also the wolf. The internal struggle between good and evil was always intriguing. That being said, I was also a HUGE fan of The Howling, I love Dee Wallace.
HN: If you could play any role, from any horror film, from anytime. Which role would you love to play?
LD: I absolutely love Hereditary. It’s one of my favorite horror films. I’ve probably watched it ten or more times. I’d love to play the part of Peter Graham although I feel like Alex Wolff really killed it. Everyone did such an amazing job in that film. I was hooked from the opening credits.
HN: The Werewolf designs are fantastic in Wolf Hollow. What was it like being on set with those beasts?
LD: It was such a fun experience! We were basically stranded out in the woods with those things! The wolf designs were incredible! The whole experience was amazing. From the moment I got on set, the cast and crew felt like family.
HN: Any funny stories from the set you would like to share?
LD: Too many to list! I think I filmed for ten or eleven days. I remember one day, we were filming against the weather. A huge rain came while we were all deep in the woods, so we all huddled together in this tiny shack until it passed. You really get a chance to bond when you spend that much time with your cast and crew. The film itself has so many comical aspects, its hard not to laugh sometimes.
HN: Your character goes through a range of emotions during the film. What method do you use to get focused on each emotional story arc?
LD: Anytime I have a character, I always approach it by building a backstory in my mind. I like to develop the characters far more than the script does. I may be thinking “where did Timmy go to school?” or “What was Timmy’s upbringing like?” I feel like the more you know about your character, the easier it comes when filming.
HN: What other projects are you working on?LD: I have a lot happening this year! I co-produced and have a small role in a psychological horror called Dark Circles, which will premiere this year. That film stars Damian Maffei, Terry Kiser, Felissa Rose, and Kammara Cole, it is directed by Hannah Fierman. Also, I recently did a film called Watchdog, which was written and directed by LC Hold and stars Felissa Rose, Mark Patton, Wes Robinson, and Chaney Morrow. It will premiere this year. I had a small role in the Jonestown film, Phantom Fun-World, which will also premier this year. I will be filming the Josh Graves film Fur at the end of the year. I have been writing a film for several years and hope to have it completed soon with plans to film in Kentucky late 2023.
