From the creator and director of Clownado (2019) and Bonehill Road (2017), Todd Sheets (Extreme Entertainment) has brought something every slasher fan can lust for; blood, guts, and all the debauchery that would make Chop Top proud. Final Caller (2020) is a feature where the characters bring their parts to another level. This film can’t really be compared to another, only the strong and bitter dispositions each character puts into it.
Roland Bennett is the head radio host at a small local station who encounters a brutal serial killer hell bent on sacrificing his victims based on an old ritual. Edward (McCord) calls into the station numerous times, terrorizing all the employees. Stars Douglas Epps, Jack McCord, Rachel Lagen, Alex Brotherton, Jane Plumberg, Dilynn Fawn Harvey, and Antiwoine Steele.
Hold on to your butts, Final Caller is a mega heap of hard core fighting and blood. Sheets has impressed us in the past with his other splatter type films but Final Caller is a diamond in the rough. Even though this film was a very low budget film, it itches every scratch any horror fan would have. Not only is the gore impeccable but the sounds are pragmatic and visually fleshy and lumpy. The true likeness and crowd puller is the actors in the film. Sheets also displays his true directing talent due to the intense reactions each character illustrates.
Jack McCord’s character Edward Ray Hatcher was extraordinary and displayed prodigious super human skill. His philosophical metaphors and rampages were music to the ears. He can be compared to a Hannibal meets Norman Bates kind of character. Douglas Epps (Ronald Bennett) and Rachel Lagen (Jessica) had great on screen chemistry and personality. Final Caller will make you squeamish, confused, and baffled, crack up, and even feel shocked. Final Caller is recommended for any admirer of slashers or any Indie horror film. We give Final Caller 💀💀💀💀/5 skulls.
