Just about every single adaption of Stoker’s immortal novel Dracula has hit the screen and page…well you would think. Coming off of their smash hit Crackcoon, director Brad Twig and his talented team at Fuzzy Monkey Films present Cracula! While several film companies attempted to follow in the success of Cocaine Bear, it was this celebrated independent company that landed closest to the mark, taking home several 2024 Horror-Nation awards. Known for their old school style of blood, boobs, and highly creative practical kills, will this latest edition in the Fuzzy Monkey catalogue live up to their previous celebrated films, or have they hit the pipe one too many times?

A couple of addicts on the hunt for some money to score their next fix attempt to bust into a storage unit. Unlucky for them, the contents hold an immortal legend. Once unleashed, the ancient Vampire quickly acquires a thirst for a new type of human blood, blood that is flowing with crack through the host’s veins. If the drug fiends were unlucky to stumble upon the biggest beast of the night, Rick’s luck was even worse. Rick just inherited the unit from his recently deceased parents. Before Rick can inspect his new property, the property has hit the town in search of drug filled denizens to feast on and build his new legion. With the law and vampire hunters hot on the trail of blood-soaked scenes, a centuries-old showdown is brewing as Rick discovers his family’s dark history.

Cracula is a laugh a minute freak fest that is filled with great kills, top tier performances, and new lore that will have horror fans drooling from their fangs. Director Brad Twig shoots a clean piece with some great color schemes coupled with B-roll sound that brings back that Hammer-Style vampire feel. The cast puts in great shifts with indie icons Tim Hale, Chanda Rawlings, Chris Rhydings, and Fuzzy Monkey staple Rick Jermain stealing each of their scenes. The special effects team shines with some incredible creative kills that make Fifty Shades of Grey look like a PG film. Fuzzy Monkey Films once again stick to their unapologetic old school horror ways, and the fans will be staking each other in ecstasy during the entire run time.

Scream Score: 8.6/10
