Jack the Ripper is one of the most famous serial killers of all time. The mystery behind the Ripper has spawned countless films and written works for over a century. Celebrated genre artist Chris Shane Sanders takes a crack at the legend with his latest film, Ripper Revealed. With a recent history of producing top shelf works, Sanders will be expected to put forth a thought-provoking original film on the age-old legend.

     Journalist Edward Taylor (Thom Donnelly) heads to the countryside of England in search for a unique perspective on a case that has haunted the nation since the late 1800s. That of Jack the Ripper. Having a guest that was a victim, Evelyn Rose (Jacky Rowland) has become a profitable and notorious Ripperologist. Edward expected a fresh take on the dark tale, what he did not expect was Eveyln’s family history with the iconic monster. Eveyln tells the story of her great grandparents Polly (Lyndsey Sheppard) and Jacob (Jon-Paul Gates.) The beleaguered couple are struggling to keep their home/hotel when a stranger from the big city comes knocking. The dark stranger sets forth a series of events that still linger around Evelyn’s historical home. 

     Chris Shane Sanders spins an intricate yarn with a terrific script which is expertly shot from director Lucas Pelizaro. Audiences may think they have seen every adaptation media has presented on the Ripper, yet this talented terror team gifts genre fans an ultra-unique fresh plot. Each performance is delivered with professional passion. Jon-Paul Gates and Lyndsey Sheppard drive the narrative with stellar takes as a creepy couple. Sanders himself adds more repertoire to his vast talents as an interloper from London. As the plot twists and turns like a crooked country English road, the viewer becomes encompassed with the legendary lore of the Ripper. Ripper Revealed is a refreshing blend of fact and fiction which will have fans of old and new stapled to the screen until the final shot.
