The Hike is the first film in The Smoky Mountain Chronicles from BigNFunky Productions, followed by WJHC. There is some hate on this movie online. But then again. The Internet is full of armchair, wanna-be filmmakers that cuck for elevated horror movies like The Babadook and lack the drive and creativity and exist only to bash others.

The crew over at BigNFunky constantly deliver films that the viewer can feel their love for cinema oozing out of every frame. Yes, the plot may be a bit played and thin, but how many major theatrical releases exhibit the same issue?

The Hike focuses on a couple hiking in the Smoky Mountains, Robin ( Kandi Thompson) and Vinnie (Vinnie Vineyard) as their romantic hike turns to one of terror the deeper they go into the mountainous region. The chemistry between the two is spot on and adds so much charm to the movie.

The film has top notch acting compared to other micro budget films out in the world, despite what the Internet trolls say.

The dialog is well written, the cinematography is absolutely amazing for the budget and the viewer feels as though they are trapped in the woods with our heroes. What the naysayers fail to realize is that BigNFunky movies come from love. It is guerilla filmmaking. It is Grunge music. These films do not have big name draws and test screenings. They put out the films they want to put out and if the viewer likes it, great. If they don’t, they can eat a suplex.

The crew does a fantastic job of pulling a From Dusk Til Dawn, in that they start the film like it is the tale of innocents that stumble into some criminal activity only to be thrust into something supernatural.

Watch The Hike and WJHC. formulate your own opinion, Dear Reader. If you long for the days of the early 90’s, before foot fetish Tarintino was on the Epstein list and Kevin Smith never met Harvey Weinstein and cried at everything on a screen, these films are for you.

Hollywood is burning. BigNFunky is the Phoenix rising up from the ashes to reclaim what has been taken from the horror nation.
