The horror nation watches, reads, and celebrates the world of dark entertainment all year round. Once fall hits, we all go a bit mad though. Production teams fight to get their products ready in attempt to cash in on not just the horror hounds but mainstream audiences who tend to take a walk on the dark side upon autumn’s arrival. Here is the most up to date release schedule slated for this horror season.

September 21: Night Of the Animated Dead (VOD)

An R rated remake of the immortal Romero classic hits VOD on September 21st and Redbox on October 5th. If you do not know the plot of this film you are probably at the wrong site, but this version promises some new scenes and extended details of that famous cinematic night.

September 29: NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE (NETFLIX)

Netflix is stepping up to the plate this fall. “No One Gets Out Alive” is an original film based on the best-selling book by Adam Nevill. When a young woman comes to the United States from Mexico in search for the American dream, she instead finds an American nightmare holed up in a cheap boarding house.]

October 6: V/H/S 1994 (Shudder)

Shudder has been on the move as of late. With the Creepshow series pulling in big numbers and films like “The Cleansing Hour” getting rave reviews. The third entry in the popular V/H/S anthology films is slated to premiere on Shudder on October 6th. The allure of the stories being kept under wraps is what makes the V/H/S series so much fun, but this the central plot is based around a SWAT teams’ discovery of a horror palace with V/H/S tapes giving clues as to what horrific events took place. A talented ensemble of directors have come together in attempt to make this version the best found footage film of all time.

10/15: Halloween Kills (Wide Release and Peacock)

The most anticipated horror film of the year hits theatres and Peacock streaming services mid-October. We last left Michael burning up in Laurie Strode’s tricked out basement prison.  But you can’t keep a good horror icon down. After escaping the Strode family along with the fed-up citizens of Haddonfield try to put down the legend once and for all. David Gordon Green’s reimagining split the horror nation. Some loved the update while others felt the film choppy and forced. Either way, the massive financial profit the film turned quickly got a greenlight for two more follow up films. With an all-action trailer having horror hounds drooling, will this sequel live up to the long-awaited hype, or be another choppy quick cash in?

10/20: Night Teeth (Netflix)

With the success of “Blood Red Sky,’ Netflix keeps the fangs flowing with the October release of “Night Teeth.” A college student making some extra money as a chauffer picks up two attractive young ladies. What should be a quick drop off turns into the search for drops of blood as he becomes entangled into their night life.

10/29: Last Night In Soho (Theatres Wide Release)

Director Edgar Wright is best known to the horror nation as the director of the modern classic, ‘Shaun Of The Dead.” This time round he goes for a dramatic horror based epic adventure with “Last Night In Soho.” An aspiring young fashion designer is transported magically to 1960’s London. But the supernatural transformation comes with consequences. A thrilling trailer and smart looking script make for the perfect big budget film for the week of Halloween.
