Any Halloween fan is always excited when they hear the words, “haunted house.” For some it’s the scare and others it’s the décor. No matter what those that love the feeling of the haunt have one thing in common, fear. People like to be scared for a reason especially during Halloween time. There are many famous haunts throughout the US. Knotts Scary Farm and Halloween Horror Nights Universal Studios are some well knowns haunts. But this article isn’t about the big Halloween haunts. This is about a gem of a haunt located in the southern California desert. A haunt that will leave your body shaking, your heart racing, and the adrenaline in your bodies rush through like a blast of dynamite.

High Desert Haunted House is located in a southern California City called Apple Valley. The location is very rural and located on a dirt road. When you reach the location your haunt experience starts right from the time you enter the gate. Ghouls, zombies, and scary plague doctors greet you at the entrance only to pre-scare you from the beginning to the end. The lighting and décor were most brilliant. It fits the mood and contributes to the fear in its own unique way. Entering the maze, a few people are sent at a time that way each “room” can be experienced with time and receive the scare you are craving. The best part of High Desert Haunted House is not only the design is very eye appealing, but the scare actors really stay in character and give you a fright only your worst nightmares can compete with. Walking through small corridors, hearing loud banging, and trembling out of your skin is only some of the perceptions this haunt will provide.

This was one of the most unordinary haunts. After speaking to the owner Jordan, he disclosed that almost every prop is handmade and recycled. Some rooms feel like you’re actually inside a horror film or inside a killer’s domain. Jordan has been putting on this fantastically far-out haunt for ten years at this location and seven years and a previous location. Like the saying really holds true, one man’s trash is another’s treasure. This is not only true for Jordan but also true for every haunt and Halloween fan that visits High Desert Haunted House. All though, in this case its all treasure! If you love the thrill of the scare and the adventure of a lifetime, visit High Desert Haunted House!
