Halloween specific films always draw big attention to the genre. There is nothing like crisp fall weather, delectable holiday treats, and a bath full of blood to get horror hounds salivating. Add to the mix, the legendary Lynne Lowry (The Crazies) and you have the makings of a new cult classic. Will director Guile Branco be able to cultivate some new autumn lore, or will this be another indie that attempts to cash in on the famous holiday?
Karen (Julia Coulter) is going through a rough patch. Stuck in a job that she hates, drifting through life without a significant other, having a goth roommate that is obsessive with the dark arts, and being the daughter in a family that is going over the edge. Slowly, Karen begins to put her life back together as fate brings a dark stranger into her life. Only one small problem remains. Karen’s mother Angela (Lowry.) Angela, a former world class ballerina, has become unhinged right before the family tradition of their annual Halloween feast. As Angela navigates a new dark world, Karen must attempt to put the pieces together before she loses everything and everyone that is dear to her.

Top marks to writers, Guile Branco and Arthur McClen, for presenting a fresh new fear film. A Halloween Feast is a mean meal that will be devoured by horror films. The script presents plenty of twists and turns that keep the viewer glued to the screen. Each performance is played with professional passion, with the iconic Lowry portraying a psychotic mother with an award-winning caliber performance. Gorehounds will be barking in ecstasy as Branco does not hold back on some terrific kills. A Halloween Feast is the perfect course to be savored anytime of year.
